Place the shadow box on a stable shelf or desk with a clear view of the front. Its finished size is 9.06 × 3.46 × 7.2 in (L × W × H); leave space for the USB lead without trapping it behind the frame.

• Test the lights before building. Connect the lighting as shown in the guide and check the touch control before fitting it into the scene. Switch off before adjusting connections, then test again before enclosing the wiring.
• Keep the numbered boards beside you. Release only the pieces needed for the current step. Put loose parts in a labelled tray and keep the board frames until the build is finished so numbers remain easy to trace.
• Test textile pieces against the furniture first. Check each covering or dress piece against the guide before trimming. Try its fit before attaching it, and use adhesive sparingly where instructed so visible edges stay neat.
• Keep thread spools and fabric rolls in labelled groups. Prepare only the group needed for the current shelf or cabinet. Place small finished pieces in a shallow tray, then arrange them with tweezers where helpful after their supports are secure.
• Finish the rear wall before closing the frame. Read ahead to the shelves, cabinet and front frame. Add hard-to-reach artwork and fittings at the guide’s indicated stage, keeping the USB and lighting wires clear of the frame joints.
