Set the finished cottage facing the room, with enough clearance around its roof and front lamp. A shelf or side table gives you a close view of the letters and parcels while the LEDs add light to the scene.

• Test the lights before building. Connect the lighting as shown in the guide and check the touch control before fitting it into the scene. Switch off before adjusting connections, then test again before enclosing the wiring.
• Keep the numbered boards beside you. Release only the pieces needed for the current step. Put loose parts in a labelled tray and keep the board frames until the build is finished so numbers remain easy to trace.
• Keep the postal paper pieces in small groups. Identify each letter, label and parcel against the guide before folding or sticking it. Prepare one counter display at a time so similar printed pieces remain easy to distinguish.
• Finish the rear counter before restricting access. Check the next wall and roof steps before installing the furniture. Place any hard-to-reach rear details at the stage shown in the guide, while your tweezers still have room to move.
• Check the roof orientation before adding the snow trim. Match the roof faces and connection points, then try the fit without glue. Add the snow-shaped trim and small rooftop decorations after the supporting structure is secure.
